Introduction
- Terrain Data: Terrain data definition attributes, terrain data quality requirements, areas of coverage and data product specification i.e. specification scopes, data product identification, data content and structure, reference systems, data quality, data capture, data maintenance portrayal, data product delivery and metadata; Obstacle data: Data definition attributes, data quality requirements, areas of coverage and data product specification i.e. specification scopes, data product identification, data content and structure, reference systems, data quality, data capture, data maintenance portrayal, data product delivery and metadata; Applications of terrain and obstacle data, air navigation applications that use aerodrome mapping data; Certification, maintenance, and temporal considerations: terrain database generation phases, obstacle database generation phases, maintenance of databases, data set maintenance and update temporal considerations
Objectives
- Understand Annex 14 in the context of the Convention
- Identify Annex 14 contents & Publication
- Get familiarization with the history of the Annex.
- Identify the applicability for used specifications
- Identify the aerodrome certification Requirements
- Understand the criterion of Reference code
- Define aerodrome data types and related accuracy
- Realize the different data to be reported for aerodromes
- Identify the coordination required in case of data change to be published
- Define the airspace around aerodromes to be maintained free from obstacles
- Identify the Operational Requirements for the Obstacle Limitation Surfaces
- Identify the requirements to overcome the growth of obstacles around the aerodromes.
- Get familiarization with Aeronautical Study Requirements for Obstacle Limitations and Mitigations Means for Hazards Identified by Obstacle Penetration to OLS
