Hands on Training in Aeronautical Charts Production

Introduction

Objectives

After having successfully completed this course, the trainees will be able to:

• Draw an Aerodrome Obstacle Chart — ICAO Type A (Operating Limitations)
• Draw plan and profile of each runway.
• Draw associated stop way or clearway.
• Draw the take-off flight path area.
• Draw the Horizontal and vertical Scale and the know the different between them
• Plot the obstacles.
• Know the different between the plan and profile view.
• Calculate the Declared distances.

• Aviation Cartographers.

Course Content

• Module 03: Training / production Type A for FYWB airport
• Module 01: Training / production Type A for EROS airport
• Module 02: Training / production Type A for FYWH airport

Prerequisite

• Basic Cartography Course
• Advanced Cartography Course
• AutoCAD or LibreCAD
• Arc GIS or QGIS for some Charts (World Aeronautical Chart — ICAO 1:1 000 000, Aeronautical Chart — ICAO 1:500 000, Aeronautical Navigation Chart — ICAO Small Scale and Plotting Chart — ICAO)
